Linda Broekhuizen was appointed as Chief Investment Officer of FMO in 2014. She started her career at Fortis Bank in the Financial Institutions team for Latin America. In 2000 she started working at FMO as an Investment Officer and after that she worked in a variety of management positions, these include Financial Institutions, Agribusiness and Sustainability. Linda Broekhuizen has a Master Degree in International Relations and in Business Administration. In 2010 she finalized a postgraduate program on Corporate Social Responsibility Management. She is member of the Supervisory Board of the Netherlands Council for Trade promotion (NCH).
Huib-Jan is Director Financial Institutions at FMO. He heads the team which provides debt financing to financial institutions, ranging from universal banks to microfinance institutions, in emerging and frontier markets. Prior to this Huib-Jan was Director Financial Markets which included the Loan Syndications team as well as the Treasury of FMO. Before joining FMO, he was an Executive Director in the Financing Group of Goldman Sachs based in London. He started his career at ABN AMRO for which he worked in various roles in Amsterdam, London and Lisbon. Huib-Jan completed Master degrees in both Business Administration and Law. He is a CFA Charterholder and attended Summerschool at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) where he took courses on International Development. Huib-Jan is married and has two daughters.
Andrew Shaw, a Senior Capacity Development Officer in FMO’s Fintech team is responsible for client engagement and solutions at the intersection of Fintech, digitalisation and financial inclusion. His role involves developing partnerships and projects that make a tangible difference to companies, people and the environment. He joined FMO in 2008 and has worked with many of FMO’s clients across the globe, fostering collaboration and innovation using FMO’s Capacity Development fund to do so. With a background in private sector consultancy, Andrew holds an MBA, with a specialization in Sustainable Development, a degree in Anthropology and is Advisory Board Member at TIAS School for Business and Society.
Jorge, founded a&b to lead financial institutions in their digital transformation. We combine our clients’ business objectives and current trends by connecting them to the right FinTechs and executing a unique strategy. We focus on transforming our clients into exponential businesses. Prior to founding a&b, Jorge worked at Citigroup for 18 years. In his last role, he led Citi’s efforts to become a global leader in the FinTech industry, defining a digital transformation strategy, launching the first global virtual accelerator, hosting 16 programs, creating one of the largest FinTech global ecosystems and implementing more than 30 solutions worldwide. Previous roles include Digital Bank Head for Latin America, where he lead the launch of +40 platforms in less than 2 years. Within Citi he held other regional and country leadership roles in multiple areas like, Risk, Corporate Finance, Business Development and others.
Prior to joining Citi, Jorge founded and led businesses in the Investment, Insurance and Retail industries. He is a founding member of www.ChallengeMeNow.com, a social network dedicated to personal achievement while helping charity organizations raise funds.
Mr. Ruiz holds a degree in Finance from The University of Texas.
Lonneke Noteboom joined FMO in 2016 to draft FMO’s FinTech strategy. Today, Lonneke is the analyst in FMO’s FinTech team and works to support clients in adopting financial technology to digitize current practices. She also looks for FinTech opportunities to close the financing gap among (W)SMEs, smallholder famers and entrepreneurs. Prior to joining FMO, Lonneke completed a Master Degree in African Development at the London School of Economics, participated in a global exchange program at Stellenbosch University South Africa and worked for BRAC UK as the Targeting the Ultra Poor Advocacy and Partnership Development Intern.
Mauricio has 30+ years of experience transforming organizations with newest technologies, revolutionary processes, business capabilities, and exponential team productivity. He has extensive experience in design, development, and implementation of global customer-centric solutions and with multicultural team leadership. His portfolio is composed by over 140 strategic initiatives at IBM, Citibank, FedEx, Shinsei Bank, Singapore Airlines, amongst others.
Before co-founding Above & Beyond Tech, Mauricio was the CTO of Prodigy Network, where he implemented a state of the art crowdfunding platform that enabled exponential business growth in the global commercial real estate industry.
Prior to this, he was the CTO of Digital Acceleration and Innovation at Citibank, where he steered forward-thinking and globally based Citi Mobile Challenge program, engaging FinTech developers from all continents, and pioneering the exposure of financial services to crowdsourcing solutions. During his 24+ years at Citi, Mauricio held multiple leadership positions, where he created a variety of mission-critical strategies, bridging multiple operational areas, and interconnecting autonomous businesses through shared solution and services, including the launch of the groundbreaking World Cash program for Citibank Japan, which enabled the integration of Japanese citizens with the international financial network for the first time in history. At the time he left Citi, he was responsible for global electronic delivery platform serving over 14MM customers in 46 countries.
